Cit-e Secrets is an urban experience offering its users to create a new type of city via a tablet while playing on the polysemy of the word "wall".
The traditional user journey is as follows:
- user who takes part in the experiment arrives in front of the tablet, facing a wall in the city center of Chambéry, France.
- They choose one of two available options.
- One is to draw the city of the future. The other is to erase the wall. If they choose to draw the city of the future, a set of colours will become available for them to draw freely. Prefabricated 3D objects added to the experience appear on screen and can be placed in the decor that will be created.
- In reverse, if the user decides to erase the wall, an already created city of the past will appear by revealing itself as the virtual wall is erased with the help of an eraser tool. At the end of each set created or revealed, a screenshot is made and sent to Cit-e secrets Instagram wall. This way users are able to follow their images alongside other players and have the ability to share an experience with each other.
- During the user testing sessions we used a methodology called The wheel of emotions by Robert Plutchik. In order to visualise how the users are experiencing the application we linked the choices of their colours with the drawing to the emotions they might experience. This way, we collected qualitative feedback that informed the choices of colours used in the game.
